When bodies talk

A journey to the dark side of female contraception.

Florencia, an Argentine mother of two, shares with us the starting point of her journey for justice: Seven years ago, after her second son, Vicente, was born, her obstetrician recommended she use a non-hormonal IUD for family planning.

Soon after that, she starts suffering physical and emotional symptoms that she can’t really understand, until she discovers that the source of her pain and anguish is her contraceptive method.

While looking for answers on the internet she stumbles upon an article from Dr. Lawrence Wilson that explains that non-hormonal IUDs contain copper and that excess copper can produce all the symptoms she has been suffering. No doctor warned her about that; they all treated her as if she was crazy when she suggested there could be a relationship between her IUD and her health disorders. That contradiction between what was supposed to be and what she felt was really happening moved her to start looking for the truth behind this contraceptive method.
